SoftCust: Sino- Swiss Software Customization

The new economy and the globalization trends have brought the new need for an increased international cooperation in the sector of software engineering.

The main goal of this project is to develop the a methodology for customizing, securing and commercializing Swiss original software applications on the Chinese market.

So far, we have selected different kind of Swiss SME’s to test this cooperation process:

• Logem SA (Inc.) specialized in human resource management and planning;
• Pro Concept SA (Inc.), provider of a “swiss made ERP” targeted for SME;
• AKTS SA (Inc.) provides a unique and innovative solution for thermo-kinetics measure and safety;
• TI-Informatique SA (Inc.) specialized in electronic management of documents;
• Brightrivers SA (Inc.) providing solutions to optimize production management.

The first phase of the project will focus on the methodology development for the successful implementation of software customization and localization on the Chinese market.

The second phase, the process consolidation, will based on further applied cases verify the customization process and methods. Going along with this consolidation phase, a SoftCust network will be initialized for the purpose of realizing software engineering know-how transfer.

With a positive result of the SoftCust project, the knowledge-based network should continue to operate. And finally it should be transferred into a Sino-Swiss association for software business promotion in the Chinese market.
